Robert Pattinson Opens Up About His 'Love Affair' with Taylor Lautner

The Twilight Saga may have ended, but Robert Pattinson's loquacious, revelatory mood continues. In a recent interview, Rob, much like the walrus in Lewis Caroll's famous poem, talked of many things including the existence of true love in real life as opposed to the movies. And speaking of love and the movies, the Breaking Dawn heart-throb dished on his four-year long "love affair" with his fellow Twilight heart-throb Taylor Lautner. Before the world gets its panties into a giant collective twist, Pattinson was referring to his and Lautner's Twilight Sagacharacters, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. According to RPattz, the entire Twilight Saga was actually Edward and Jacob's love story.

Okay. Whatever blows your dress up.
When asked in an interview if he and "Taylor... learn to love each other in this movie [Breaking Dawn Part Two]?" Rob's response was unequivocally affirmative.
"Sure!" he replied. "I give him my daughter! That's love. You could even say this entire thing is a love story between Edward and Jacob."
Actually, he's absolutely right. Sort of. Throughout the five Twilight Saga films, Edward and Jacob's relationship follows the pattern of a classic romance novel love affair—minus the bodice ripping, mind-blowing sex of course. Think about it. Two strong minded characters who belong to feuding families, meet and can't stand each other. They clash, argue, and almost become involved in physical altercations—but not quite. Finally, they're thrown together in an unavoidable dramatic situation where they're forced to work with and support each other for a common noble cause. During the course of their association, they learn to see each other not as hated nemeses, but as vibrant, passionate, intelligent, caring human beings. Or, in the case of Edward and Jacob, as vibrant, passionate, intelligent, caring vampire and werewolf whose love was fated all along, even though they'd been too stubborn to see it. You get the picture. Ah, l'amour...
As for whether Robert Pattinson believes in the "power of love, a love that lasts a lifetime like in the movies," his response to that question was equally positive and affirmative.
"Definitely, yes," Rob replied. "It sounds cheesy, but I see it with my parents. My dad met my mom when she was 17 and they're still happily together. ...it was great seeing my parents sticking together. ...especially when most of the kids at my school had parents going through divorces."
